During an opening ceremony of Westfield Health British Transplant Games, the organ donors were welcomed with standing ovation and applause at the Waterfront auditorium. Every year about 600 lives are saved by the organ donation. The event was so moving that tears turned up in the eyes of the audience. During the event one of the athletes from Northern Ireland, who won a bronze medal in the event, became emotional while paying her gratitude to the organ donors.
