Integrating the Health Care Entreprise in Europe Charter

A organização europeia Integrating the Healthcare Entreprise (IHE), consiste em:

• "initiative is to stimulate integration of healthcare information resources to improve clinical care".
• "develops and publishes detailed frameworks for implementing established data standards to meet specific healthcare needs and supports testing, demonstration and educational activities to promote the deployment of these frameworks by vendors and users".
• "To pursue these activities, IHE engages the efforts of numerous stakeholders, including care providers, medical and IT professionals, professional associations and vendors".

Vejamos as razões fundamentais que levaram à criação da IHE- Europe:

1. "In 2004, around 80 billion Euros will be spent worldwide on healthcare IT systems in their largest sense".
2. "The share of Europe in this market is about 30 percent of the total".
3. "Such systems are evolving towards the creation of Electronic Health Record systems. An important part of a patient’s records are the results of diagnostic procedures in electronic form".
